Brian Fuchs comes to us from the National Drought Mitigation Center in Lincoln Nebraska. Brian will help us look at how dry we really are and what the potential for moisture looks like in 2023. Often, when we think about how dry it is we think in the short term frame of reference, how it feels right now. The more accurate method is to look at trends over time, but our historical data is often scarce. That’s where Brian comes in. He can help us look at where we are now in the drought cycle and how we got here. While Brian doesn’t have a crystal ball to forecast what the future holds he does have access to many different forecast models and he can tell us what he thinks the future looks like.
